_____

As I read the book, I thought the feed was born with everyone. Well, not biological born with that, but new born babies were assigned to install the feed as soon as they ‘leave their mom’. This quote points out that Violet’s father had to struggle to save up money for his daughter, Violet to install the feed. In order to have enough money for the installation, Violet’s father did not even take a ride to the moon to loop up Violet although she was sick, and asked to stay in the hospital alone. This is ironic that in the Legion, feed is something that could considered as a daily life’s needed, almost everyone need one to survive; however the feed actually cost a lot- Violet’s father was a college professor, in the 21st centuries, readers would assume Violet’s family had a good life, they should not be worried about money issue. Nevertheless, Violet’s father has difficulties to find enough money to pay for the feed. This explains who in the Legion, there are only 70% of the American had the feed on, since the rest of the 30% cannot afford the payment.
In the Legion, the feed helps to convenience people’s life, but through this piece of evidence, I feel bad for the people who lived in the Legion- The convenience and the benefits only would go to the rich and wealth people. This is an issue that also exists in the society we currently live in. The wealth getting more and more wealth; and the poor just keep getting a poor life. Scientists works hard to invent new things, they explore and applies more technology to our life in order to bring up our living standard. Regardless they ignored the most significant factor that could actually help out to build a peaceful and beautiful society- a balance between the wealth and the poor
